What Makes a Backlink Worth Building

Not every link helps. A backlink is only useful when it comes from a page that real people actually visit, on a site that is topically close to yours, and in a context where the link makes sense to a reader who has never heard of you. Everything else is noise at best and a liability at worst.

The links that move rankings tend to share the same characteristics: the host site earns its own organic traffic, it publishes for a real audience rather than for search engines, its outbound linking is restrained rather than industrial, and the page your link sits on is genuinely relevant to what you sell. When those four things are true, a single placement can outperform fifty directory submissions.

This is also why we do not use private blog networks. A PBN is a site that exists only to sell links, and search engines have spent more than a decade getting good at recognising them. The short-term lift is not worth the long-term exposure, and cleaning up after a penalty costs far more than doing it properly the first time.

How We Vet Every Placement

Every link goes through a 12-point quality check before it goes live. Our QA team checks organic traffic, spam score, relevance, and outbound ratio before any link goes live — and if a prospect fails on any of those, we walk away from it rather than counting it towards your monthly quota.

Every campaign follows Google’s link scheme guidelines. That constraint is deliberate. It means we turn down placements that would look attractive on a spreadsheet, and it means the authority you build stays yours through algorithm updates instead of evaporating during the next one.

  • Real organic traffic. The site has to be earning search visitors of its own, not just existing.
  • Topical relevance. The publication and the specific page need to sit close to your subject matter.
  • Restrained outbound linking. Pages stuffed with links to unrelated commercial sites pass very little of value.
  • Editorial standards. Real editors, real bylines, and a publishing history that predates any interest in selling links.

What You Get Every Month

Link building fails most often as a reporting problem rather than an execution problem. You cannot judge a campaign you cannot see, so we make the work visible as it happens.

You can track every link placement and traffic impact in real time — no waiting for a monthly PDF from your agency. Every client gets a senior SEO specialist with direct Slack access, so questions about a specific placement get answered by the person who secured it rather than an account coordinator relaying messages.

Placements are covered by a 12-month link guarantee. If a link comes down inside that window, we replace it.

Who This Works Best For

RankWithLinks was founded by a team of SEO veterans with 10+ years of hands-on experience building authority for SaaS companies, eCommerce brands, and local businesses. Those three groups still make up most of our work, and the approach changes meaningfully between them.

SaaS companies usually need authority pointed at comparison and alternative pages, where buying intent is highest and competition is fiercest. eCommerce brands tend to need category-level authority before individual product pages can rank. Local businesses need fewer links overall, but they need to come from geographically and topically credible sources.

Across more than 15,000 links built for over 500 clients, the pattern holds: campaigns that concentrate authority on a small number of commercially important pages outperform campaigns that spread the same budget thinly across a whole site.

Link Building Packages

Our packages start at $1,799/mo for 10 high-DA authority backlinks and four SEO articles, and scale to 40+ backlinks a month at enterprise level. Every tier includes a full technical SEO audit, AEO and GEO optimization, keyword research and strategy, and on-page optimization — because links pointed at a page with unresolved technical or on-page problems will underdeliver no matter how good the placements are.

Link Building FAQs

How long before I see results from link building?

Authority compounds rather than switching on. Most campaigns show early movement on mid-competition terms within two to three months, with the larger gains arriving later as the links age and search engines re-evaluate the pages they point to. Our own case studies range from two months to nine, depending on how competitive the target terms were and what condition the site was in to begin with.

Do you guarantee specific rankings?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Nobody controls a search algorithm. What we guarantee is the work itself: the number of placements, the quality standard they meet, and a 12-month guarantee that replaces any link that comes down inside that window.

Can I approve the sites before you place a link?

Yes. We share prospects before outreach so you can veto anything that conflicts with a partnership, a competitor relationship, or your own brand standards.

Do you use private blog networks?

Never. No PBNs, ever. Every placement sits on a site with its own audience and its own organic traffic, and every campaign follows Google’s link scheme guidelines.

Who writes the content for guest placements?

We do. Guest content is written to the host publication’s editorial standards rather than to a template, which is a large part of why placements get accepted and stay live.

What happens if a link is removed?

We replace it. Sites get sold, redesigned, and occasionally pruned, so a small amount of attrition is normal across any large link profile. The 12-month guarantee exists to cover exactly that.
